Avascular Necrosis (AVN)

Avascular Necrosis (AVN), also known as osteonecrosis, is a condition where the blood supply to a bone is disrupted, leading to bone tissue death. It most commonly affects the hip joint, but can also occur in the knees, shoulders, and ankles.

Common Symptoms of AVN

  • Persistent pain in the hip joint or groin region
  • Limited range of movement of hip region
  • Pain while walking, sitting, or standing
  • Joint stiffness and limping
  • Weakness in hip region due to bone softness
